Is it over already?

Today is the last day.  The two weeks have flashed by with the hundreds of pages that we have all turned one after another.  We have fought against hard odds, and probably show some of the scars left from them.  (I don’t know about any of you, but I am tired from the early mornings and the one all nighter I pulled).  Surprisingly I don’t have any paper cuts from all the pages I have handled.

The feeling of being done, and closing the Bible after two hard weeks is one of great accomplishment.  This is my first year making it.  Things come up, priorities shift, and sometimes we can’t get it done.  That’s ok though.  No matter how much you have read, or haven’t read, you have read more than you normally would have, and that’s all that matters.  We don’t do this for personal glory, but for God’s.  The things that we learn from this are so that we can live a better life for Him.  Remember to give Him the glory.

As we head into this bright new decade 2010, lets not lose our reading momentum.  I don’t expect us to find the time to read 60+ chapters a day, but what about 3 or 4?  Certainly we could find time for that?  It’s something I have been convicted of these two years after I finish this.  I’ve read the Bible in two weeks, can’t I spend more time on it then 10 minutes a week?  Think about it as you go to put your Bible away tonight.

Good job everyone!  No matter if you just finished Genesis, or if you closed your book at Revelations, by God’s good grace we did it.

Solo Deo Gloria!
